[en] Cours de 2ème phase moto (cat. A)
Le Grand-Saconnex GE

All individuals holding a valid probationary driving licence are eligible for the second-phase complementary training. If the probationary licence is outside its validity period, an authorization must be obtained from the cantonal vehicle office of your canton of residence.

To take part in the second-phase motorcycle course, each participant must arrive with a motorcycle or scooter corresponding to the category of the probationary licence they hold.

The vehicle must meet the following criteria:

  • Comply with the licence category (restricted A or unrestricted A);
  • Be in perfect working condition (brakes, lighting, tyres, etc.);
  • Be insured and registered in Switzerland;
  • Have a full tank of fuel at the start of the course.

It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle meets the technical and administrative requirements. In the event of non-compliance or a mechanical issue, the conditions set out in Article 8.1 of the general course conditions remain applicable.

Each participant must attend with an approved vehicle, in good working order and corresponding to the category covered by the driving licence. Accordingly, a person holding a restricted category A driving licence limited to 35 kW must attend the course with a vehicle that does not fall within the A1 sub-category (i.e. more than 125 cc and 11 kW) and that complies with the 35 kW power limitation.

If the vehicle does not meet these requirements, the conditions set out in Article 8, paragraph e of the general course conditions will be applied.

The second-phase motorcycle course takes place mainly outdoors, with sometimes prolonged static phases. It is therefore essential to wear clothing suited to weather conditions, whether hot, cold or wet.

Regarding equipment, the following items are mandatory in order to participate in the course:

  • An approved helmet;
  • A pair of gloves;
  • A long-sleeved jacket;
  • Long trousers;
  • Closed shoes.

Although not mandatory, equipment specifically designed for two-wheeled riding (jackets and trousers with protective inserts, reinforced boots, etc.) is strongly recommended for your safety.

In the event of insufficient equipment, Article 8.1 of the general course conditions remains applicable, and access to the course may be refused for safety reasons.
